Yellow Alert Stories

Jenni's Story

“My little boy was seen by our GP twice, he was also weighed and seen by numerous health visitors in his first six weeks of life and no one picked up on his jaundice.

"Finally at his six week check I asked my own health visitor again as his eyes were so yellow and even though she 'wasn't worried about the jaundice' she referred us to the hospital because my son had a hernia. They finally picked it up through a blood test - despite also saying they didn't think it was anything and not to worry!”
